ABRAKA—Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University, SSANU, Delta State University, DELSU chapter has threatened to embark on a strike action if the Delta State Government fails to pay its May salary.

Rising from its congress, yesterday, on the Abraka campus of the university, chairman and secretary of the association, Izu Monday and Mathew Eyuren in a statement, questioned the rationale for their unpaid salary saying, “what is our offence for which we are being made to suffer?”

Speaking at the end of the congress, Izu said: “We have not given the government any ultimatum yet, but we are using this medium to reach out to them on the assumption that they are not aware of our plight.

“If by the end of June, May salary is not paid, we would give them a 14days ultimatum and if they refuse to act, we would review the situation and take a decision.”
