ABA-The youth wing of the pan Igbo socio political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said it has assessed the performance of governors and other political office holders of South East extraction and would declare the result of the exercise on May 29.
Addressing journalists in Aba, National President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Council Worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who disclosed that the assessment covered performance in health, education, youth empowerment, rural development, education and infrastructural development, said the move had become necessary to encourage South East political office holders, put more effort in developing the zone.
According to him, “We have concluded the assessment of governors and other political office holders from the South East zone. We secretly embarked on the assignment to see how far these political office holders have been mandate to improve the lives of the people. We are not doping it to witch-hunt anybody, but to help bring attention to some critical problems affecting the South East. It is just to commend those who have been doing well and encourage others to put in more efforts.
“The result of the assessment will be released on the eve of 29th of May, 2016.I assure you that the exercise was carried out in the best interest of the South East zone. It was not done to witch-hunt any political leader”
Isiguzoro added that the exercise was carried out by an independent panel of judges who secretly went round the five states and insisted that there is no need for any political leader of the zone to express fear.
