My life revolves around dad
I am a 62 year old retired civil servant. My husband died many years ago and I live with my father, who is 82. Until he suffered stroke nine months ago, we led a good life together. We went for walks, read, listened to music and shared the household chores. I have no close friends but I enjoy my own company. I love travelling by train and used to do so regularly here and abroad. Although my father has made a good recovery, our lives now consist of shopping and watching television.
How do I forgive his sexting
My husband and I appear to have the perfect marriage and family that everyone wanted. In fact, many people said so. The truth is, it was not as great as they or I thought. He is successful in his job and his colleagues speak very highly of him. By chance, I discovered that he had been sending sexually explicit photographs to a woman he works with. I had met her a couple of times but never thought she could rival me for my husband’s affection.
Abduction saga: More questions on how Ese left Bayelsa
Many are wondering why any decent man will choose to take away a minor of Ese Rita Oruru’s age from her parents’ base in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State to far away Kano to forcefully have her as wife without the consent of her parents. Ese, who turned 14 years last week, was allegedly kidnapped on August 12, 2015 and taken away from the shores of Bayelsa, her place of birth to Kano by one Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow, a commercial tricycle operator.
Enugu hosts World Investment Summit
With a proposed investment summit scheduled to hold next month, the Enugu State government appears set to launch an economic blueprint which Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi describes as a “one-stop-shop” for all manner of business opportunities in the area. Tagged “Oganiru Enugu State World Investment Summit,” the programme, according to government, is expected to attract prospective investors to exploit the abundant resources in the state. The move comes at a time when governments at various levels in the country try to find alternative sources of income independent of the dwindling crude oil revenues.
The rules of the game
Sex means so many things to different people. To a large extent, what we think about sex and how we feel about it, depends largely on our individual experiences. While sex can be much fun and so, so pleasurable for some, others may find it uncomfortable and irritating, and some others, unbearable. However, sex is a game that comes with its own set of rules, and players need to try to abide by them. When these rules are breached, the partners are not likely to get the desired result. To get the best out of your partner, you must create an enabling environment to suit your purpose, and up your game at any given opportunity for a rump in the sacks.
Uberrima fides
Insurance contracts, unlike most commercial contracts, are governed by utmost good faith (uberrima fides). Most other commercial contracts are governed by caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). Caveat emptor places the onus on the buyer to examine, judge and test a product before parting with money. Caveat emptor places the buyer at a disadvantage, especially when dealing with dubious sellers, even though laws have been enacted to redress the lopsidedness.
What defines you?
I spent two hours with Dr Christopher Kolade, the elder statesman at his home last week. So rich is my experience, so varied is my take-away after such a meeting that I always wish there could be more of such meetings but Dr Kolade is still a very busy man even at his age. It was our first meeting of the year, and there seemed to be more to discuss than time allowed. But two areas that are inescapable in our discussions no matter how tight the time, are his passion for God, and his passion for Nigeria.
Challenges of older men dating much younger women
IN general, when experts talk about fine-turning a relationship, they suggest ways both partners can compromise and adjust. Not so with the older man/younger girl pairing. “In testing the waters of male-female love, the girl has to splash—and pay attention to her own strokes,” says Janice, a seasoned relationship expert. “She needs to be childish at times, to fret, to go beyond the bounds of conventional behaviour to act on impulse, and sometimes to enslave herself to the loved one. It is therefore up to the man to measure whether he is the right person to chase and hold her.

Controversy surrounding the enthronement of the new Olubadan of Ibadan was laid to rest, yesterday, as Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State presented the staff of office to Oba Saliu Adetunji, 87, as the 41st Olubadan of the ancient city.
