Badagry— A member of the House of Representatives representing Badagry, Mr. Hontoyon Bamgbose has demanded that the Federal Government and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State institute programmes for the aged and widows in the country.

Bamgbose, who made the demands weekend while disbursing cash and other items to the aged and widows in Badagry, lamented they (aged and widows) were often neglected to cater for their needs.

His words; “Many of us tend to forget these set of people in the society as if they weren’t once active. Due to the neglect, they started to experience emotional depression. This has sent larger percent of them to their early grave.”

However, he said; “The onus is on us – the public officeholders, wealthy individuals, relatives to give them a sense of belonging by giving out our widows might to them.”

The federal lawmaker explained that the 100 beneficiaries were selected from the three local government areas in Badagry without bias.
