ASABA—THE Court of Appeal sitting in Benin, Edo State, has dismissed  the appeal  by the House of Assembly candidate of Labour Party,  Mr Hero Omwirhiren, against the member representing Okpe Local Government constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Sheriff Oborevwori.

Omwirhiren had dragged Oborevwori to the tribunal challenging his victory in the 2015 general election.

The election petition tribunal which sat in Asaba had dismissed the petition for Omwirhiren’s inability to prove his case.

Delivering judgment in the matter, the Presiding Judge, Justice H. A Barka, said the appellant could not prove his allegations and upheld the judgment of the tribunal.

Dismissing the petition, Barka awarded cost of N50,000 each in favour of all the respondents against the petitioner.

Reacting to the judgment, Oborevwori thanked  God for his blessings and his constituents for their support.
