The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria has extolled the visionary and proactive leadership of the His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and Head Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar. In the same vein, the leadership of Nasru-LAHI-L-FATIH Society has also praised the Sultan for his outstanding leadership which according to it has engendered harmony and peaceful co-existence among all faiths in the country.
Both organisations stated this after a separate courtesy visits to the Sultan in his palace recently. The Amir of the Jamaat, Dr Mashuud Adenrele Fashola extolled the exemplary leadership qualities of the Sultan, adding that “it was heart warming that the Sultan ensured that Ahmadiyya has a Mosque in the seat of caliphate located along Wammako road. The Supreme head of the Muslims in Nigeria ensured that there was no discrimination of any kind against the Jamaat in Sokoto.”
He continued: “the Sultan has been a very receptive to all Islamic groups and ensuring a level playing field to all, in his quest for peaceful propagation of Islam and the unity of Nigeria”.
He said the Sultan appreciate the tremendous efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community globally and in Nigeria in particular in the areas of peaceful propagation of Islam more importantly provision of quality and qualitative Islamic literature for dawah in various languages, both international and indigenous.
However, the leadership of Nasru-Lahi-l-Fatih Society, NASFAT led by the Board of Trustees Chairman, Alh. Abdullateef Wale Olasupo recently paid a courtesy visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, Sheikh Sa‘ad Abubakar III in his palace. The occasion afforded the delegate the opportunity to commiserate with the Sultan over the recent tragedy in the Holy land where over 200 Nigerian Muslims lost their lives with over 500 missing
The organisation also disclosed that arrangements are on-going on the society’s biennial conference scheduled to hold in December 2015 as well as the 21st anniversary of the society coming up in the first quarter of 2016. In his response, Sultan appreciated NASFAT for bringing about religious harmony in the country just as he expressed happiness for the visit
He therefore advised the leading Islamic organisation to remain focused in the task of ensuring unity and love among Nigerians.
Meanwhile, NASFAT also organized a Special Dawah Workshop in conjunction with Islamic Education Trust (IET), Minna tagged Train the Trainers Workshop. The lectures most of whom were drawn from IET, Minna took the participant through series of Dawah issues to further enhance their understanding of Islam.
Mourn death of Emir of Borgu
Meanwhile, the Jamaat equally condoled the family of the late Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro, Kitoro 111, and the entire people of Borgu, Niger State over the death of the Emir recently. The organisation prayed Allah to grant the late Emir Aljanah Firdaus while also urging the people of Borgu kingdom, to take solace in Allah as He gives and takes life at the appointed time.
Dr Mashuud Fashola recalled that the late Emir’s visit to the World head of the Ahmadiyya community in London as well the grand reception accorded the world Islamic leader in Borgu kingdom in 2008, adding that with one of Ahmadiyya hospitals located in New Bussa, the late Emir was supportive of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.
“The entire leadership and membership of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria therefore commiserate with the Late Emir’s family, royal chiefs, friends, the entire Borgu Kingdom and Nigeria as a whole. We believe the incident was an immeasurable and irreparable loss to you all, and we pray Almighty Allah will grant you all the fortitude to bear the loss and make his demise a source of increased blessings.”
NASFAT also commiserated with the Sultan as well as the people of Borgu Kingdom, Niger State over the death of the Emir.
