Irked by activities of quacks, the Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, NAPharm, has called on pharmacists to uphold and ensure high ethical standards in the practice of the profession.

The Academy, inaugurated in June last year, also wants the incoming Minister of Health to bring harmony among the professional groups in the health sector to pave way for peace and progress.

President of NAPharm, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, made the call in Lagos yesterday, while announcing the forthcoming investiture of new Fellows of the Academy and NAPharm Lifetime Achievement Award, on October 27.

Adelusi-Adeluyi disclosed that there would be investiture of 22 new fellows into the Academy during the forthcoming event, which would have the Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, as the special guest of honour.

Represented by the Vice President, Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, Adelusi-Adeluyi said maintaining ethical standards in the profession would make it a more fulfilling and meaningful enterprise for pharmacists and the communities they served.
