I’m still in PDP, says Macaulay, ex-Delta SSG

ASABA—Former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Ovuozorie Macaulay, has said he invested his life and time in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and therefore cannot afford to dump the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Macaulay who spoke at Igbide, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, when he paid a courtesy call on the President General of Isoko Development Union, IDU, Chief Paul Omu, described the rumour of his planned defection from the PDP as laughable.

According to him, “the rumour that I want to dump PDP for APC is nothing but laughable. This rumour has been on even before we left government. So, it is not new to me. But I want to say that I have invested all my time and life in PDP. I am still a full member of the party. My body and soul still belong to PDP and as such

I can’t afford to leave the party I have contributed so much to build.”

He enjoined the people of Isoko nation and Deltans to close ranks and work for the unity and development of Isoko and the entire state.

Macaulay who is the pioneer chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in the state, said he had decided on a thank you visits to traditional rulers and leaders in the area for their supports and encouragements while he was in government for 12 years.

Macaulay also visited the member representing Isoko Federal constituency, Leo Ogor, Bishop of Oleh Diocese, some traditional rulers in Isoko North and South and Gen Ufuoma Obada retd, in Agbarho.
