LAGOS – Ace designer, Yomi Makun, CEO Yomi Casual recently launched his new line of designs thereby celebrating his new office in lekki axis. This has enabled him regain proximity to his clients. Everybody wants to look their best at all times. For a lot of people out there, when you think designers, think YC.   Present at the opening of his new place where prominent artists, friends, guests and loved ones.

He stated that “While I was in Surulere, I was dreaming of coming to the Island. The planning and putting together of this place took me 3-4 months.  A lot of my models were not able to come due to other engagements.  Every design you find in the show room are designs you have never seen before. Although my newest collection will be coming out next month.  My next collection is titled “Envy”.  I do make clothes for women, but on a low key. Am not really announcing it yet.  For women who love to wear YC, it is not official yet. I would branch fully into women collection when I think the time is right”.

He further stated that “My expectations in terms of turn-out has left me impressed because I know there are big events happening all around while I keep hoping for the best in terms of sales.  I hope that in the next one year I would be able to double my rent and I also hope to have a one on one relationship with all my clients now that I have moved to their zone. The thing about growth is you need to move closer to where your clients are as they won’t come to you. I have showcased in some fashion show but I have never had a solo show. I should be hoping to have my own fashion show soon but we are still looking for sponsors. I am a very creative person so what I have in mind is not the regular fashion show everybody does. It is extremely different and will cost a lot of money”.

“Personally, I have grown past the stage of cutting , I am in the creative department. When push comes to shove, I will get the scissors and do my cuttings personally. So it is not like I can’t cut. I make it a point of duty to help out every day no matter how little or much my orders may be. My boys know it is very difficult to place me. I am good at what I do, as I studied fashion in the University. For now, I do not do mass production but streamline each cloth to suit each person. I am aiming at people seeing my brands in top boutiques in Lagos”.
