ABUJA—Five lucky winners have emerged in the StarTimes first draw in the ongoing Win a Trip to Germany promo. Fifty winners also emerged from the draw for LED TV prize and 100 winners for 2. 5 KVA generators. At the end of the draw, 200 winners for Solar 5 smart phones also emerged.
The winners are to travel to Germany free of charge to watch the Bundesliga matches at the expense of StarTimes. Speaking at the event, the Public Relations and Communications Manager, StarTimes Nigeria, Mr. Israel Bolaji, explained that the promo was a testimony of StarTimes’ commitment to celebrating its Nigerian customers in marking its five years operation in the country.
Bolaji said the company had succeeded in breaking the monopoly in the pay TV market and pledged that it would sustain the drive until every home in Nigeria had access to digital TV services. According to him “We came up with the idea of this promo as a major investment of Startimes in the sporting activities. We will offer customers free trip to watch football live in German league. We considered it a very engaging to entertain the youths.
Bundesliga football league is one of the biggest leagues in the world as the 3rd league on the log globally. It boasts of the largest stadium in the world with over 40,000 football spectators in every match with fans from about 200 countries across the world. The idea is to reach out to every StarTimes customer in Nigeria.”
StarTimes Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jack Liu, said: “StarTimes has got full right to air Bundesliga and we have given NTA the Free to Air right so that all Nigerians can watch the Bundesliga in the coming season. Apart from this, we are also working on Serial E league, which starts from next week. We are also committed to bring more football content to Nigerian viewers. We are not only doing football in the digital platform but other programmes. We all know Nigerians like football and we want them to enjoy it in full measure.”
