ILORIN—A suspended member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim, representing Ipaye/Malete/Olooru constituency, who was reinstated by the court was yesterday  prevented from entering the assembly complex for the second time in a week.

The house leadership however claimed that it was not aware of the court judgement being relied on by the law maker, adding that as far as it was concerned, Ibrahim was still on suspension.

The legislator, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was suspended in 2013 but approached the court where his suspension was nullified  on June 13, last year.

The court in its judgement directed  the House to pay all his 22-month salaries and allowances.

However, Ibrahim had tried to enter the House on Tuesday but was prevented from doing so. The  same scenario played out yesterday at the Assembly gate along Asa Dam road at around 9:20 am.

The security men at the gate first stopped his car for about five minutes to inform their superior about the lawmaker’s presence.

A team of security men at the assembly including the Police, NSCDC officials and an Department of State Services, DSS, operatives numbering six later arrived and had lengthy discussion with the lawmaker for about one hour, 30 minutes.
