Build your future on Godly fear, Adeboye urges youths

By Olayinka Latona

GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has again charged Nigerian youth to be ready to obey God in every aspect of their lives for them to be great in life.

He made the admonition at a special prayer programme organized for youths at the Redeemed Christian Church of God National Headquarters (Throne of Grace), Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

Speaking on the theme; “The Beginning of Greatness”, Pastor Adeboye who took a voyage through his humble upbringing and how God lifted him, advised the youths to know God as the Almighty, The Most High and embrace the truth that “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom”.

He reminded them that promotion would only come from God and that youths that are taking advantage of technology to perpetrate evil in the name of wanting to be rich are only incurring the wrath of God.

“As long as God desires to promote anyone, no creature can stop Him and in the other way round, when anyone crosses God’s way by being disobedient to His rules by cutting corners and God decides to fight that individual, let him or her go into hiding even under the ground, God’s Omnipresent Hands will catch such a person”, he warned, urging the youth to work hard and wait for God to lift them up and no one would be able to bring them down.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Special Adviser to the General Overseer on Administrative and Personnel, who also is the Pastor-in-charge of Lagos Province 1, Pastor Johnson Odesola lamented the misuse of internet by some youth who refuse to benefit from the manifold benefits internet and computer offer.

He called on parents to be concerned about how their wards make use of internet and computer and not just dwell on the path that they need to be computer literate.

Odesola also stressed the importance of parents living a worthy life such that they would be role models to their wards, reminding them that they would be responsible for what their children become in future since they laid the foundation of their lives.

According to him, it is necessary for parents to monitor the life of their children either in Nigeria or overseas when there is the possibility of being influenced by wrong children and ensure they follow the path of righteousness and dignity.
