By Gabriel Enogholase

BENIN—AHEAD of the presidential election scheduled for March 28, the Esan people of Edo Central senatorial district of Edo State have thrown their weights behind the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan, describing him as a better choice of the two leading presidential candidates.

Esan people who are kinsmen of the Chairman, Board of Trustees, BOT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, spoke through the Esan Elders Forum at a press briefing in Uromi, Edo North Local Government Area of the state.

The organisation appealed to Esan people irrespective of where they are and Nigerians in general to vote for President Jonathan come March 28.                                                                                                                        Chairman of the Esan Elders Forum, Chief Julius Akpede, who addressed journalists at the occasion, said: “In examining the critical issues of security, welfare, Islamism, among others, EEF has adopted President Jonathan as the preferred presidential candidate of the Esan people.“

The group said that the Esan nation, after a thorough consideration of the two leading presidential candidates, arrived at the inevitable conclusion that “all things considered, Goodluck Jonathan would be a better choice for Nigeria.”
