ABUJA—The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has challenged the All Progressives Congress, APC, to explain the source of tapes of terrorist attacks on Nigerians which the ruling party claimed last night to be in possession of the opposition APC.

The PDP in a statement issued by its national publicity secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh expressed its concern that the tapes may have been instigated by terrorist groups which it claimed had earlier thrown support for the APC’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC in a reaction accused the PDP of being afraid of the forthcoming election and doing everything to scuttle it. The party in a response by Alhaji Lai Mohammed asked the ruling party to beg the people of Nigeria instead of resorting to blackmail and all manner of actions instead of addressing its failures.
