PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan landed Asaba, Delta State, today, for strategic meetings with opinion leaders and groups in continuation of his campaign for the March 28 presidential election.
He was received at the Asaba International Airport by the governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate in the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and other top party dignitaries.
As at the time of this report, he was said to be meeting with the royal fathers in the state at the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, Prof Chike Edozien.
The president is expected to engage the Hausa community in Asaba tomorrow. The visit will afford him the opportunity to sort out touchy matters with some aggrieved persons and groups.
His host, Gov Uduaghan has reportedly mobilized the people for his visit and was all smiles when the president arrived.
