Ghana U-20 hold Flying Eagles

TOO OLD FOR EAGLES? — Flying Eagles.

The national U-20 football team, the Flying Eagles relinquished their lead twice to settle for a 2-2 draw in a test match against the Ghana U-20 [Black Satellites] in Accra.

Manu Garba had embarked on a playing tour of Ghana as part of preparation for the 19th edition of the African Under 20 Championship in Senegal.

Two first half strikes and one of Ghana’s goal sandwiched in between summed up the strength of the Nigerian visitors on the day.

Musa Yahaya and Chidera Ezeh both scored in the 22nd and 40th minute respectively. The Black Satellites cancelled out Yahaya’s strike and kept it late into the second half to peg Nigeria back in the game.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, the Satellites Coach praised the Flying Eagles first-half performance but would have felt satisfied with his team’s resilience.

The sides will prepare for the second-leg of the double header.
