Mr Simon Lalong, the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau, said on Wednesday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was jittery over the INEC’s insistence on the use of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for the February general elections.
Lalong made the assertion during the APC gubernatorial campaign flag-off in Pankshin, Pankshin Local Government Area of the state.
“It has become very clear that PDP is very much afraid of the use of PVC by INEC for the forthcoming general election,” he said.
He said that APC was confortable with INEC insistence on the use of the PVC for the polls and called on members and supporters of the party to guard their PVC jealously.
The APC guber candidate charged party faithful and supporters not to allowed themselves to be hoodwinked into selling their PVCs to desperate politicians.
Lalong said, if elected as governor of Plateau, he would ensure that all funds meant for the local gpvernment were released to them in order to enable the councils provide employment for the youth.
He also pledged to revive the Plateau Agricultural Development Project (PADP) and transform the education and health sectors with qualified teachers, doctors and nurses.
He appealed to the people of the state to give him and APC the desired votes ito effect the necessary change that would restore hope to Nigerians.
Also speaking, the State APC Chairman, Mr Latep Dabang, said that APC gave the Governorship ticket to the Southern Senatorial zone and the Deputy to the Central zone to bring about equity and peace on the Plateau.
Dabang said it would be unfair for Gov. Jang to insist that Plateau North must produce the next Governor after spending eight years.
“That in itself is injustice and outright greed which will not help the peaceful coexistence of the Plateau citizens who are lovers of justice and peace, “ he said.
