Ado Ekiti—Former Military Governor of the old Western State, General Adeyinka Adebayo, has counselled Ekiti State Governor,Mr Ayo Fayose to remain focused and not to be discouraged by the wave of criticisms from his opponents

Adebayo who is the father of the first executive governor of the state, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo urged Fayose to commence execution of his programmes irrespective of the criticisms from his opponents, saying the end results matter to the people

Speaking while hosting the governor at his Iyin-Ekiti country home yesterday, General. Adebayo said going by experience, people would always have one thing or the other to say about government policies

His words: “I am happy to see you here. My house is for everybody if you are doing good, as I see myself as a father to all. As the military governor of the old Western State, I did my best for Ekiti people. I was lucky that I had the opportunity to serve Ekiti people. I was able to bring water, schools and hospitals to my people as governor.

“Since Ekiti State was created, the governors have been doing their best. What we need now is to generate more money for the setting up of industries. Forget what people say about what you do as governor as long as you are doing the right things.

“Ekiti people should support their government. With the sincere support of the people, then those leading them will be able to do more,” he said.

Fayose had earlier told General Adebayo that he had to visit him following a surprise call he got from the general on Monday.

“I am here to appreciate your love for Ekiti and the people of the state. I want to assure you that we will bank on your counsel and advice. We are wishing you long life and the more you are here for us the better for us,” he said
