The commissioner for Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC, in charge of Ughelli North and Ethiope East Local Government areas, Mr. Ominimini Obiuwevbi, has donated scientific equipment to Ibru College Agbarha Otor in Ughelli North.

He promised to do more to promote the study of science subjects in secondary schools in his jurisdiction.

Obiuwevbi noted that it was necessary to do everything possible to encourage learning of science subjects since life depended on science and technology, just as he awarded one Edeguare Prosper, a Senior Secondary School 2 science student, scholarship for correctly providing an answer to a Mathematical question he asked.

The commissioner also inspected some ongoing projects, including a National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, lodge, science laboratory block under renovation, a six-classroom block, among others.

The principal of the school, Mrs. Ajobo M. K. O., expressed gratitude to the commissioner for his gesture.
