ABAKALIKI—THE people of Uburu community in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, yesterday, pledged their support and solidarity for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Dave Umahi, in 2015 general elections.
The representatives of the community, including the Chairman of Uburu Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Godwin Akpandu, Ambassador Gabriel Odii, youth organizations, women groups, clergymen and other stakeholders, who spoke at the occasion, stressed that they were solidly behind the candidacy of the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State.
The community leaders called on Umahi to carry everybody along in his administration if elected, adding that what would make him succeed if he became the next governor of the state was for him to imbibe the fear of God, humility and total commitment to the course of all Ebonyi people, irrespective of geographical differences.
Responding, the PDP gubernatorial candidate said: “Nobody gave us any chance during the primary election; the battle was tough for me. I want to thank God for everybody’s assistance.
“It is not that Dave Umahi knows people, but Uburu people have God. I give all the thanks to God.”
