Amori denies working against UPU’s directive

By Perez Brisibe

SAPELE—THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta Central senatorial candidate for the 2015 general elections, Chief Ighoyota Amori, has denied allegations levelled against him by the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, in a publication that he worked against the UPU’s candidate, Chief David Edevbie, in the Delta State PDP governorship primaries.

Chief Amori, who is the Senior Special Adviser to Delta State Governor, told Vanguard that the information on which the publication was anchored was mere hearsay.

He said: “I deny everything in that publication as it relates to me and I can swear to that. The allegations are unfounded and based on hearsay without the principle of fair hearing from both sides. I have spoken with the leadership of the UPU and we will be meeting soon to resolve the matter.”
