Negotiation with Boko Haram is belated—NACOMYO

In commemoration of the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1436 AH, the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations, NACOMYO, has charged the Muslims to rededicate themselves to the cause of Islam by being law abiding and live peacefully with other Nigerians.

Boko-haram-negotiation-cartThe organisation also applauded the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, for the success of this year’s hajj operation which was threatened by the Ebola virus, just has it commended Saudi Authorities for the preparations and measures put in place to ensure that no case of the virus was recorded amongst the over two million pilgrims that performed the hajj rites.

Speaking on the state of the nation, the national president of the group, Alh Kamal’ddin Akintunde said the decision of the Federal Government to go into Ceasefire and negotiation agreement with the Boko Haram was though belated, but wise, adding the development might be turned into electioneering propaganda.

On 2015 elections, the group urged Muslims to ensure that they cast their vote wisely by voting for Government that will allow free practice of their religion without hindrances. The group noted that the recent judgment on Lagos State Government banning Students’ wearing of HIJAB in schools was an infringement on Fundamental Rights and a conspiracy between the Christian dominated judiciary and Lagos State Government. The apex Muslim Youth Group however enjoined the Lagos State Muslims to pursue the issue to a logical end and with every sense of decorum and candor.
