PORT HARCOURT— Former Secretary to Rivers State Government, SSG, Mr. Gabriel Pidomson, has joined the governorship race in the state.
Pidomson, who declared his intention yesterday in Port Harcourt, dismissed claims that the former Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, had been adopted as the party’s candidate in the governorship election.
Pidomson, who was also a former lawmaker in the state House of Assembly, said if elected, he would build more cities in the state and create jobs.
Pidomson assured that he would guarantee security of lives and property in the state. “The first and most solemn obligation of the governor is to keep the state strong and safe for all and sundry, improve education, provide infrastructure and an environment that stimulates economic activities.
As governor, I will work to preserve and create jobs, build new cities, invest in world class healthcare, step up funding for education, embark on sustainable rural infrastructure, electricity, water supply in homes, housing and clean environment,” he said.
