Aftermath of the heavy blow inflicted on Boko Haram insurgents by Special Forces of the Nigerian military, another attempt by the terrorists to infiltrate Benishek, also in Borno state has been foiled by troops.
Over 300 terrorists have been killed in separate confrontations between the insurgents and Nigerian soldiers in Konduga which is just 35 kilometres from Maiduguri, with several deadly weapons and ammunition recovered.
It was gathered that when the terrorists discovered that Konduga was a no go area, they headed to Bonishek and laid ambush for troops on patrol duties.
One soldier was killed, four were wounded while some motorcycles belonging to the terrorists were cseized during the ensuing shoot out.
It was gathered that some of the terrorists were killed but no casualty figure was announced.
Confirming the development in its twitter handle, DHQ said, “At Benishek troops fought through an ambush yesterday, 4 Motorcycles of the terrorists were captured.
“One Soldier however died while four who were wounded are receiving treatment”.
