BENIN— THE authorities of University of Benin, UNIBEN, yesterday, described as untrue and misleading, reports that the absence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Osayuki Oshodin, was hampering the running of the university.
The university in a statement, said: “The incumbent Vice Chancellor of UNIBEN has been away overseas for medical check-up and he is expected to resume fully soon.
“In his absence, the Deputy Vice Chancellors, Administration and Academic, have, at different times before August 5, performed the functions of the Vice Chancellor after due consultation with him as necessary.
“UNIBEN’s manage-ment urges the general public to disregard the unfounded fears raised in some publications as both academic and administrative affairs remain on course despite the Vice Chancellor’s absence.”
