By Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA — Three persons were killed, Wednesday night, at Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State following the invasion of the home of one Chief Azubuike Ekweozor  by suspected assassins.

Ekweozor, the target, escaped death by whiskers, while a visitor to his house, one Rueben Ikwuka, was not so lucky as the assassins mistook him for  their target thereby killed him.
However, two of the suspects, who stormed the community in a black Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV, were  killed by the policemen attached to Ekweozor.
Anambra State Police Command said, yesterday, that investigations had commenced on the incident as an identification card of the Enugu State Transport Company was recovered from one of the suspects.

The command’s spokesperson, Uche Ezeh, said in Awka that the command would not relent until the perpetrators were found.
He confirmed that one person was killed by the suspects, while two members of the gang were gunned down by policemen attached to Chief Ekweozor.
