Galaxy Backbone commits to youths entrepreneurship training

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Galaxy Backbone Ltd, Gerald Ilukwe, has reiterated the commitment of his company, as the ICT service provider of the Federal Government, to the success of the Enterprise Platform for Entrepreneurship in the ICT sector.

Illukwe made the comment in expression of happiness to the recently launched Enterprise Platform for Entrepreneurship in the ICT Sector by SURE-P Technical Vocational Education and Training, SURE – P TVET.

The project which was launched and midwived by the Project Implementation Unit in partnership with Galaxy Backbone, according to him, ushered in a new era in the pursuit of knowledge based economy. He said that “the launch heralds a new dawn in our collective desire to harness ICT as a tool of empowerment specifically for our youths and bring about the much needed development of our nation”.

He added that “the Enterprise Platform for Entrepreneurship in the ICT sector is not about providing internet access to Ministries, Departments and Agencies; rather it represents a significant milestone towards setting up an enterprise platform which will be used to train Nigerian youths to acquire specific IT-related skills which will enable them start their own businesses at the end of the program”.

He expressed his delight that the launch and commencement of the training of 2000 participants marks the culmination of effort and synergy between SURE – P TVET PIU, Ministry of Labour and Productivity and Galaxy Backbone for the benefit of the youths and nation.

The program, which is leveraging on Galaxy’s connectivity infrastructure nationwide, is designed to equip non-graduates and graduates with the necessary and essential skills for establishing enterprises and maintaining jobs and careers in the ICT sector.
