Nigeria will be among the first countries in sub-Sahara Africa to drive the all-new Ford sensational sport car, the Mustang, even ahead of South Africa.
The new Ford Mustang will be arriving Coscharis and Briscoe showrooms in September this year while South Africa will be getting their consignment later next year because the car is yet to be available in right hand drive which is what is used in South Africa.
In a chat with top officials of Coscharis and Briscoe Ford, Ford’s representatives in Nigeria during the recently concluded Ford Go Further in event, in South Africa, Vanguard Motoring gathered that the two Ford dealers plan to use the powerful Ford Sport Car to lift their Ford showrooms in Nigeria.
“This is a powerful statement from Ford. It won’t be a bad idea bringing it to Nigeria immediately,” said the Coscharis official who hinted that few units of the iconic car has already been ordered for the Nigerian customers.
The Ford Mustang is available with a hallmark 8.0 litre engine and EcoBoost engine, and will win more converts for Ford. Built in United States, the Ford Mustang is unarguably one of the most powerful cars by Ford Motors with its intimidating design.
The unveiling of the new Mustang attracted over 150 journalists and hundreds of Ford dealers from across the sub-Sahara Africa during the Ford Go Further event in South Africa recently. The event showcased Ford’s new range of vehicles including the all new Ford Fusion, Focus, Ranger, among others.
