While the governor and All Progressive Congress, APC, candidate accused the PDP of making desperate plans to rig the June 21 governorship election by locking down communities with soldiers and policemen on the day of election, Fayose asked Governor Fayemi to stop blackmailing him and his party, insisting that the PDP was more prepared for the election than APC.

Speaking through the spokesman of his campaign organisation, Mr. Dimeji Daniel in Ado Ekiti, Fayemi alleged that “as part of the rigging plot, the party plans to lock down most of the communities in the state with soldiers and policemen who would be ordered to scare residents of the communities with gunshots, thus preventing them from exercising their right to vote.”

However, Fayose through the Director of Publicity of his campaign organisation, Mr. Gboyega Aribisogan, said; ‘’This is sheer blackmail from the APC. The coming election is an isolated one and there is no way any political party, be it LP, APC or PDP will deny the fact that there is need for adequate security in the election.”
