BY GBENGA ARIYIBI

Ado Ekiti – FORMER governor of Ekiti State and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  gubernatorial candidate in June 21 governorship election, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has threatened to hand over any of his supporters found acting like a thug to the police.

Fayose, who spoke in  Ipoti, Iloro and Ijunrin Ekiti in Ijero Local Government during his gubernatorial campaign, warned miscreants in the party to change for the better or have themselves to blame.

While decrying the anti-social behaviour being exhibited by suspected thugs during his public outings, Fayose warned them to desist or he would hand them over to the police.

According to him, ”I want to urge you to stop any act of thuggery while following me. Some of you are in the habit of drinking yourselves to stupor with different brands of alcohol. l don’t want you to kill yourselves or injure people because of me.”

He berated Governor Kayode Fayemi for allegedly encouraging capital flight in the state, claiming that most of the ongoing contracts in the state were being handled by people from Lagos State.

According to Fayose, “The situation in the state is so pathetic. Ekiti workers can no more cope with the economic reality in the state. They are really suffering and are being treated like a second class citizens by the present government in the state.”
