Ex-Gov Audu charges politicians on services to humanity

By CHRIS OCHAYI

ABUJA — Former Governor Abubakar Audu of Kogi State has tasked all political office holders in the country to be honest and put in their best in the services to humanity, so that they would be remembered and appreciated by the people after leaving office.

Audu, who was honoured with the Igala Man of the Year award at the Arise Igala Leadership awards 2014 night organised by the Arise Igala magazine in Abuja, said whenever God gives you opportunity to serve or govern, serve and govern well.

The nomination for the award was conducted online and Prince Audu was overwhelmingly voted for to emerge as Igala Man of the year.

According to him, you can’t work to please everybody but while at the helm of affairs in any God’s given opportunity, try as much as possible to put in your best for your people to enable your name be written in the sand of  time.

Audu, who noted that rendering good services to the people was better than amassing wealth at the detriment of the governed, recalled the magnitude of appreciations he was being accorded within and outside of Kogi State since he left office as governor of the state.
