Confab: I did not abandon my duties —Delegate

ABUJA— A member of the National Conference currently ongoing in Abuja, Mrs Bola Ogunrinade, has dismissed reports that she abandoned her duties at the parley without permission.

Ogunrinade, whose clarification was contained in a statement issued, weekend, said she took permission from chairman of the conference, Justice Idris Kutigi, before travelling out of Abuja to attend to some urgent domestic matters.

She said: “I wish to correct the erroneous impression that I took leave without permission. I had earlier written to the chairman of the conference for permission to travel to sort out urgent domestic matters from April 16 to 23, 2014.

“The permission was granted. I returned to join the committee on Thursday, April 24 2014 and has since taken active part in the discussions relating to youths’ empowerment and leadership training.

“It is not true that I was persistently absent from the conference. I am a product of the University of Ibadan, the London School of Economics and the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.

“I have a positive orientation to work having served in both public and private sectors in senior management positions.”
