Lagos – Players of Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia on Thursday lauded the club’s management for fulfilling its financial obligations to them.
Captain Chima Uluocha, who expressed his colleagues’ appreciation, said the management had also ensured prompt settlement of their match bonuses.
The commendation was contained in a statement in Lagos.
Uluocha was the scorer of Warriors’ first goal in the ongoing Glo Premier League in their 2-0 victory against visiting Kaduna United.
He particularly praised the club’s chairman, Emeka Inyama, a former journalist and commissioner in Abia, for fulfilling his promises to the team and motivating them for the task ahead.
“In our last game with Kaduna United, the chairman promised us a big amount of money if we won the game and he has since redeemed his pledge.”
The player also acknowledged Gov.Theodore Orji’s assistance and support for the club and promised that they would continue to live up to their billing.
The club’s secretary, Oliver Ndife, noted that the management would always take seriously the welfare of the players and urged them to continue to be good ambassadors of the state. (NAN)
