BAUCHI — Persons suspected to be ritualists, yesterday, attacked  a middle aged woman in Lukshi village, Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State and plucked out her two eyes.

It was gathered that the victim,  Zainab Mohammed, was returning home after attending a coronation ceremony when she was attacked.

The attackers, after removing her eyes, were said to have escaped to an unknown destination.

Confirming the incident, the state Police spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police Haruna Mohammed said one Zainab Mohammed of Yelwan Dawani village was attacked and her eyes removed  by three unknown persons inside a bush at Lukshi village while on her way home after attending a coronation ceremony.

He said police detectives attached to Dass division visited the scene of the attack and rushed the victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi for treatment.
