LAGOS— As family members of late marketing communications guru, Mr. Sesan Ogunro, Group Managing Director, Eminent Communications and Spot-On Media, prepare for his burial, the police in Lagos may have closed in on his killers.
Vanguard gathered that operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Lagos, who launched a manhunt for the bandits, following an order by the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, after the December 22, 2013 incident, have made some breakthroughs.
Sources disclosed that the Toyota Yaris snatched from Ogunro’s widow may have been ferried to neighbouring Benin Republic to a waiting buyer.
A source who spoke with Vanguard on the condition of anonymity said SARS operatives spread its drag net to various parts of Lagos and other states in the quest to round up the suspects and their efforts are currently paying off.
The source said: “I can tell you categorically that the police in Lagos are not sleeping over the Ogunro’s murder and are closing in on his killers. At the moment, they have been able to track his wife’s car to Benin Republic where it was sold to a notorious stolen car receiver. Am sure within days the police will complete its operation and make publictheir findings.”
