The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, NCAT, Zaria, has been hit by acute hostel accommodation which led to students’ demonstration, last week.
Rector of the College, Capt. Chinyere Kalu, blamed influx of students into the college for the shortage of accommodation in the institution.
Kalu explained that a block of 70 rooms was commissioned last year while an executive hostel was opened two years ago to cater for more students, but this did not solve the problems.
According to her, “As we are commissioning, it is being filled up and students are here. We cannot turn them back. We have postponed a course for some students who want to come in two times because of accommodation problems”
