Trouble is looming in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as governors on the party’s ticket are rallying for a showdown with the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur over his alleged unsavoury attitude towards them.

IN the first part of my contribution, we looked at Nigeria’s oil revenue, 1970 to 2006, and summarised the revenue streams as follows:

We saw that our cumulative oil revenue in the 29 years, from 1970 to 1999, was only N3 trillion; while a whopping N20.8 trillion was received in the next seven years, from 2000 to 2006!

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has said that “rooting out high level official corruption, ending impunity of perpetrators, and turning around Nigeria will take more than mere promises and preaching of decency: it requires strong leadership at the highest level of government.”
