ASABA— DELTA State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Lucky Uyabeme, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), has died in a motor accident.

He died on Sunday evening when his vehicle, a Toyota Highlander SUV which he was driving somersaulted several times along Ogwashi-Uku-Kwale road before plunging into a ditch while on his way to Asaba.

He reportedly died on the spot before any assistance could reach him.

Vanguard gathered that he was carrying two other persons who were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba.

Incidentally, before the news of the crash was broken on Sunday night, the late PPRO had spoken to Vanguard on phone over the police angle to the release of a kidnapped ex-Biafrain solider who was released along with his wife early on Sunday morning.

Policemen at the state police headquarters, Asaba yesterday wore mournful looks over the death.
