PCRC donates office blocks to police in Lagos

Members of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, during the week, reiterated it’s commitment to assist the police in battling crime and criminality in the state, as they donated 11 office blocks to Trade Fair Police Division.

Chairman of the PCRC, Hon Ogbonnia Leonard, who presented keys of the offices to the police, said the PCRC thought it necessary to assist the police  in erecting new office blocks to enhance their performance in the discharge of their duties.

The chairman, who is also the President of the Balogun Business Association at the Trade Fair Complex also said: “As members of the PCRC, we can not leave the duty of policing to the police alone.  We have a duty as members of the PCRC to always come to the aid of the police who are saddled with the duty of protecting lives and properties in the country. That is what we have demonstrated by constructing these office blocks to enable policemen serving in this division have access to a comfortable environment to discharge their duties.

“Before we commenced this project, policemen in this division do not have offices to do their job and the divisional police officer, Robinson Eregare had laid foundation for the office complex but he does not have the required funds to complete the project.  We organized ourselves as PCRC members and put up a befitting structure for policemen in the division.   I want to make it clear that the PCRC will not stop at this project, we are still going to do more to assist the police in this division,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Area E Commander, Festac, Dan Okoro, who was present at the  opening  ceremony thanked the PCRC members for coming to the aid  of the police at the time of need.  Okoro added that the police will reciprocate the gesture.  “You have supported us in our time of need and we will also come to you in your time of need.  I want  to say a big thank you all and I want to urge you all to be law abiding and be peaceful as you go about your businesses.   The police will always support you and provide security  for  your  complex and the adjoing communities,” he assured.
