Elders’ silence worsened Taraba crisis — Group

JALINGO—Elders of Taraba State have been warned that their continued silence in the face of ongoing political stalemate is encouraging some few individuals to hold the state to ransom by attempting to rule by proxy.

Briefing newsmen in Abuja, yesterday, the General Secretary of a political group, the Taraba Justice Forum, Mr. John Ambulus said: “The silence of many top leaders like General TY Danjuma and others is lending credence to all manners of insinuations of complicity in the hostage-like conflict.”

He appealed to elders of the state to stop the current conspiracy of silence and act to secure negotiated settlement in the political stalemate in the state.

“ The undenied reports of collusion to rule by proxy and the strange prolonged silence are sources of worries and anxiety for us and many Tarabians. We are still not convinced that elders of repute being fingered in the evil operations of the cabal, are actually complicit,” he said.
