Golden Eaglets assistant coach, Emmanuel Amuneke has said that the recent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test, which questioned the true age of certain players of the national team will not deter the Eaglets from achieving their goal of winning the FIFA U-17 World Cup billed for the United Arab Emirate in October.

Amuneke, former striker of the Super Eagles, stated that there are players who could replace those that have been disqualified by the test.

“I remain optimistic about the chances of the team, we know that this journey was going to be full of challenges when we started. But we have been transparent enough as regards the twin issue of players’ selection and the MRI test and it is important for the public to be well educated on this matter.

The truth is that these players have not remained the same since we picked them almost two years ago because they have been training and eating well and their growth is expected,” he stressed.
