Jonathan seeks Senate approval of Bolere Ketebu, 7 others as ambassadorial nominees

ABUJA — PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has sent to the Senate for screening and confirmation as a non-career ambassadorial nominee former President, National Council for Women Societies, NCWS, Dr. Bolere Ketebu from Bayelsa State.

Other nominees sent by President Jonathan who belong to the career category are Mr. O.F. Muoh, Imo, Career; Mrs. T.J. Chinwuba-Akabogu, Anambra, Career; Mr. Adamu Emozozo, Edo, Career; Mr. A. Echi, Benue, Career; Mrs. G.M. Quist-Adebiyi, Lagos, Career; Mr. M. Dauda, Borno, Career; and Mr. Hakeem O. Sulaiman, Ogun, Career.

The letter to Senate President, David Mark,  dated July 4, 2013, read: ‘’In accordance with section 171(1)© sub-section 4 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I have the honour to forward the list of seven career and one  non-career ambassadorial nominees.

“While hoping that the request will receive the usual expeditious consideration and confirmation of the distinguished senators, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest regards and esteem.”

Also yesterday, the President sent for screening and confirmation Dr. Adamu Mohammed Fika, Yobe State, North-East, as Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission.

Other  members of the commission as sent to the Senate, include Alhaji Idi Adamu Ningi, Bauchi, North East, member; Senator Dahiru Bako Gassol, Taraba, North East, member; Abubakar Tuta Garba Rufai, Kano, North West, member; Aliyu S. Abubakar 111, Sokoto, North West, member and  Stephen Yepwi, FCT, North Central, member.
