Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has returned to the country after a short vacation in the USA where his family resides.
Keshi returned Sunday night and quickly moved to Abuja where he will hold a meeting today with Aminu Maigari, the President of Nigeria Football Federation.
On the day he left for vacation, Emeka Inyama, the media committee chairman of the federation said that Keshi would likely be queried on arrival for not attending a meeting in Abuja but finding time to take delivery of cars promised him by Chief Mike Adenuga, the chairman of Globacom.
It was in the thick of the tension between Keshi and the federation after the Nations Cup controversies. But NFF sources hinted yesterday that “things have calmed down and Maigari will be holding a useful meeting with Keshi on the way forward for Nigerian football.”
Keshi is also said to be brandishing an olive branch and ready to hold a very peaceful meeting with the federation.
Sylvanus Okpala, one of his assistants was sacked while he was away. The federation said that Valere, Houndunou, another assistant would now be paid by Keshi. Keshi, we gathered, would discuss these matters with Maigari, hoping to amicably resolve the issues that caused the actions.
“He will be telling them of the need to appreciate the fact that you don’t change a winning team,” another Keshi source said.
