Shooting Stars Football Club attacking midfielder, Azeez Shobowale has set an eight-goal target for himself in the first stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Shobowale netted his first goal in the side’s 3-2 win against Wikki Tourists in NPFL Matchday 5 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Sunday.

The former Dolphins’ playmaker said more goals are in the pipeline as long as he gets more playing time in the star-studded Oluyole Warriors.

“In 3SC every player is trained and encouraged to go ahead to score goals that’s why one can go for thanksgiving for scoring a goal.

“I almost went for thanksgiving myself after scoring my first goal of the season in the 3-2 defeat to Wikki Tourists in Ibadan on Sunday.

“After the breakthrough I’m bold to say more goals are coming. At least, I expect to score eight goals before the end of the first stanza,” said the former ABS midfielder to supersport.com.

Shobowale said his side are going to Yenagoa to compound the woes of Bayelsa United on Matchday 6 next Wednesday.

“We’re going to Bayelsa to finish the good work Akwa United started in last Sunday’s 3-0 thumping of the side on Matchday 5 in Uyo.

“We’ll add to their woes as our target is to grab the three points at stake. They’ll come out tough to redeem their bruised ego before their fans but we’ll surely come out unscathed. We have quality players to do the dirty job,” he said.

3SC have garnered nine points from a possible 15 in the five-week old Nigeria Professional Football League.
