NSCDC arrests 3 suspects over employment fraud

ABUJA—The Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, has arrested a three-man syndicate who impersonated the Commandant General’s aides claiming to be staff of the Corps.

The gang comprises Mr. Wilfred Ahatuamen, who is the principal suspect, that  claimed to be an aide to the Commandant General, and his girl friend, Miss Grace Benedict, who also claimed to be the Commandant General’s Secretary, and Ikechukwu John who is one of the accomplices.

The said syndicate collected N280,000.00 from one Mr. Bojor Bobori under the false pretence of offering him a job in the agency.

The victim was meant to pay the balance of N20,000 after securing an appointment letter from the NSCDC.

The Corps said it was on the basis of the present development that it decided to partner with the EFCC and ICPC to clamp down on internet scammers and impersonators defrauding applicants of their hard earned money.

The Corps had earlier arrested over 560 suspects, of which 135 suspects had been successfully prosecuted.
