ENUGU—THE Acting Governor of Enugu State, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, has denied reports that his expenditure limit has been fixed at N500.000 in the absence of Governor Sullivan Chime.

Onyebuchi was speaking at an interactive session at the end of a tour of projects in the state by the national good governance team.

Describing the report as untrue, the Acting governor said he would not have been able to pay the salaries of workers and contractors if his spending limit was pegged at N500,000.

He also affirmed that Governor Chime duly transferred power to him before he travelled via a letter he transmitted to the House of Assembly.

He added that he had since been running the state without hitches and with the full cooperation of government officials and ministries.

Answering questions on the achievements of the administration, Onyebuchi disclosed that  435 of the 472 communities in the state had been electrified.
