LAGOS—A 24-year-old man, Victor Idongesit, has been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for claiming to be responsible for one Mr. Stanley Anebor’s wife’s pregnancy and allegedly stabbing the man during a fight.

Idongesit was said to have broken the news to  Anebor, saying that he had sex with her several times before she became pregnant at  Olodi Apapa, Lagos, where both reside.

Anebor, who could not handle the revelation from Idongesit,  allegedly engaged him in a fight and in the process, the defendant broke a bottle and stabbed Anebor with it.

Idongesit was arrested by the police at Tolu Station and charged to court for conduct likely to breach public peace and assault under sections 166 and 171 of the criminal code laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

According to Anebor, Idongesit confronted him, that his wife was  pregnant for him (Idongesit), adding that the defendant told him not  to brag about his wife because he too had access to her as well.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
