Edo PDP urged to base campaign on issues

BENIN—AS campaigns for the July 12, governorship election in Edo State hot up, the Oshiomhole Campaign Organisation, has urged Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to concentrate on issues rather than mudsling.

Director of Media and Publicity, Prince Kassim Afegbua, in a statement, said the campaign organisation would dwell on issues in order to stimulate the electorate to see the good works of Governor Adams Oshiomhole in the last three and a half years.

He said: “We have viewed with concern the descent to mudslinging campaigns being orchestrated by the opposition PDP for lack of any concrete selling point in its resolve to test the popularity of its candidate in the elections.

“Rather than dwell on tissues of lies being bandied about as a consequence of this lack of any achievement to point at, the Oshiomhole Campaign Organisation will lay emphasis on the numerous achievements of the governor across the three Senatorial Districts, 18 local government areas and the 192 wards in the state.”
