Yenagoa—Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the bye- election for the Sagbama-Ekeremor federal constituency in Bayelsa State.

Though the election was characterised by voter apathy, the result released by the Returning Officer for the Sagbama-Ekeremor federal constituency, Engr. Emmanuel Ekwulo, showed that PDP candidate, Dr. Stella Dorgu, polled 78,309 to beat her closest rival of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, who came a distant second with 1,901 votes.

Progressives Action Congress, PAC scored 708 votes while African Renaissance Party polled 587 votes.
