Coscharis Motors distributors of Jaguar and Land Rover brands in Nigeria has won the Landrover Importer of the year, 2011 Award in the sub-Saharan Africa.

At the Award ceremony held recently in Canal Walk, Cape Town, no fewer than 40 dealers and importers assembled from the sub-Saharan Africa attended  prized 2011 JLR dealer awards.

For the first time, representatives of the sub-Sahara Africa JLR network were in attendance, a sure sign that the significant investment made by JLR under the leadership of Kevin Flynn and Operations Director, Nigel Clarke, was bearing fruits.

Representing the Land Rover importers were senior partners from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Angola, Tanzania and Kenya while stable mate Jaguar flew the flags of the same countries with the exception of Tanzania.

The Group Managing Director, Coscharis Motors, Mr. Josiah Samuel received the Coscharis Award.

The glittering function was compered by local personality Mark Bayley while pace was added to the occasion by guest speaker Brian Habana who represented South Africa on the wing in the recent Land Rover-sponsored Rugby World Cup. No fewer than 33 dealers from the home region competed for honours but the focus was on sub-Sahara Africa and on three of the region’s representatives in particular.

Zimbabwe’s name was up in lights as Premier Auto took the sought-after Jaguar Importer of the Year honours while Coscharis Motors of Nigeria scooped the Land Rover Importer of the Year accolade.  Not to be outdone, Tanzania, represented by CMC Automobiles, made a podium visit to collect the award for Most Improved Dealer of the Year.

While congratulating the Awardees, the Managing Director, Jaguar Landrover, Mr. Kevin Flynn thanked them for their exceptional efforts and on-going commitment and dedication to both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

He promised to ensure all JLR customers receive a superlative ownership experience which could be achieved through the passion and hard work of everyone within the JLR dealer network.
